One hotel programme for the whole operation, not five
Most hotels run on three or four tools that don't talk to each other. Roomismo is the hotel software that brings them together: reservations, channels, payments, tax reporting and housekeeping on one dashboard.
What a hotel programme actually is
When people say hotel software they usually mean the system where reservations get recorded. In practice a hotel needs rather more than that: channel synchronisation, a way to take direct bookings, payments, invoicing and a way to organise staff.
When those live in separate programmes the work doubles. You enter the same booking twice, a rate change gets forgotten on one channel, and accounting waits for a CSV at month end. That is mostly what a single hotel management system solves.
What a hotel programme needs to cover
Seven things that cost you either time or lost bookings when they are missing.
Calendar and reservations
Every booking in one calendar, whether it came from an OTA, the phone, email or a walk-in, with guest details and history attached.
Channel manager
Rates and availability updating themselves across Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia and whatever else you list on.
Booking engine
Direct bookings from your own site with no per-booking commission, so not every reservation arrives through an OTA.
Payments and invoicing
Deposits, charges at check-in and receipts, without switching to a different programme halfway through.
Tax and AADE reporting
MyDATA, ΤΑΚΚ and e-invoicing inside the workflow rather than as a separate job at the end of the month.
Housekeeping and staff
Which room needs cleaning, who picked it up and what is outstanding, without paper at reception.
Reports that mean something
Occupancy, average rate, revenue per channel and commission costs, without exporting to Excel first.
How to choose hotel software
Five questions that sort the serious options from the rest quickly.
- 1
What does it replace?
If you still need two more subscriptions alongside it, it is not a single system. Add up what you pay in total today.
- 2
How fast does it go live?
Moving rooms, rates and bookings is days of work, not months. Ask who does it and when.
- 3
Does it handle Greek tax requirements?
An international system usually knows nothing about MyDATA or ΤΑΚΚ. Check whether it covers them natively or via a third tool.
- 4
Does it work on a phone?
Hoteliers are rarely at a desk. If the programme needs a desktop for the basics, you will end up avoiding it.
- 5
Who answers when something breaks?
In peak season support matters more than the feature list. Ask what hours, and in what language.
